THE WISCONSIN TEPP PROGRAM
What is the Wisconsin TEPP Program?
The Wisconsin TEPP Program helps people who are hard of hearing, visually impaired, or disabled to recieve equipment they need in order to use basic telephone services. The amplified telephones are designed with special features to help someone who has a hearing loss or is visually impaired. Some of these features include Big Buttons for easy dialing, loud visual ringers that you can hear and see, tone control to be able to hear more clearly, 30-50 decibels of amplification for the hard of hearing, speaker phone, hearing aid compatible, and more.
THIS SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...WHAT'S THE CATCH?
THERE IS NO CATCH...
The Wisconsin TEPP Program is paid for by the Wisconsin Universal Service Fund or (USF) established by the Public Service Commission. Money is collected from Wisconsin telephone service providers to be able to offer this program to Wisconsin residents.
TEPP requires that an applicant:
- Be a Wisconsin resident
- Be a person who is hard or hearing, deaf, speech impaired,or mobility impaired
- Be a person that needs an amplified telephone to better hear and use telephone services
There is no AGE OR INCOME LIMIT, but an individual can only use the Tepp Program every three years.
It takes about 6 weeks to receive your telephone. You will never be charged for the telephone, and it can be used with any additional telephones in the household.
You must complete the TEPP application and we will go ahead and order your telephone for you. Applications only take a few minutes to fill out and can be picked up at one of our 4 office locations or by mail.
